Our Past Events and Activities

Date: September 24th 2022

Venue: CGC Head Office.

Organised By:  CGC in partnership with Endiro Coffee.

We were so honoured to host partners in Civil Society, friends, and well-wishers of CGC to a Charity Walk that marked the Launch of our new Strategic Plan and New Brand Identity. Graced by the Minister of Kampala, Honourable Minsa Kabanda, the event gathered over 150 people from different walks of life including students, the Big Sister Alumni, Service Providers, and partners in Civil Society. During the walk, different activities like Zumba, sessions where we presented our strategy, and testimonials from beneficiaries were shared. We are grateful to all those that joined us in this very remarkable event that marked a new season for the next 5 years of implementation. We remain indebted to all those that gave generously to the Walk for the girl child campaign both in kind and in monetary terms.

cern for the Girl Child

Endiro Coffee is a café in Kampala that serves vulnerable communities and partners with CGC for the same. This year, CGC was given the opportunity to showcase their work as well as network with different people during the Endiro Thankful Thursday. We were able to display the products that the girls make from the skilling project as well as share our new Brand Identity and Strategic Plan with different people. We are grateful for the opportunity accorded by Endiro Coffee.

Cameras4 Girls is an initiative that was started with the aim of overcoming gender inequality and poverty, one camera at a time. Amina Mohamed, the founder is passionate about girls and mentors’ university girls especially those in the journalism class to capture stories as they progress in their journalism career. She has been instrumental in mentoring some of our girls and has supported beneficiaries through online literacy during the pandemic lockdown. This year she visited with her students who captured touching stories about our program’s achievements and girls’ testimonials.
